Eating in NY

This is our ongoing list of restaurants we’ve been to / or want to go to in New York City:

Breakfast Spots

  • Buvette
  • DuJour Cafe – My favorite bakery…we came here the first morning after we got back to America and come back often for their quiche and scones
  • Park Stone Cafe

Lunch & Dinner

  • Awash – Ethiopian deliciousness
  • By Chloe
  • By Emily – No lie, I may call them soon to ask where they get their olives, because they are divine – also if you come here to get the burger arrive early because they only make a few a night and they sell out quick *Stove still hasn’t had one*
  • Brook Vin – We liked their drinks, not their foods or $$$
  • Fatty Daddy’s Tacos
  • Geido
  • Ladybird
  • Los Tacos No. 1 – (Another Ivan rec!) Stove thinks these are the best tacos in the city *I can’t confirm because all their tacos are covered in meat and cilantro*
  • Lupa – Anne first took me here maybe 5 years ago, and we go back often for their Cacio e Pepe
  • Mission Chinese
  • Momofuku – THE BEST RAMEN omggggg
  • Kogane – Second best Ramen and much less expensive / busy
  • Rice Thai Kitchen
  • Sauvage – We went for Stove’s birthday dinner

Pizza!!!

  • By Emily
  • Joe’s Pizza – Good, but not worth the hype we’ve been hearing (in our opinion, Peppinos is better)
  • Patsy’s
  • Peppinos – The best NY pizza we’ve had
  • Roberta’s Pizza
  • Smiling Pizza – Our neighborhood go-to pizza spot (we really like the Grandma’s Pie!)
  • Patsy’s Pizza

Bars

  • 169 – Chinatown dive bar filled, normally not my thing, but they were playing The Seven Year Itch and had $2 beers so all-in-all the night we went so not the worst
  • Attaboy – Probably the most truly speakeasy-ish bar I’ve ever been to (no signs, too dark to read the menu, etc.) but the drinks are goooddd and it’s a pretty fun experience
  • Blueprint
  • Brooklyn Barge – I liked this place for the views! We visited on a colder day and it’s quite windy because you’re literally on the water…so be prepared

Restaurant Wish-List:

  • Atla
  • Brandi Library
  • Brooklyn Crab
  • Cosme
  • Emmy’s Squared – This pizza looks like an upgraded version of Jets – the one pizza I truly miss from Ohio
  • Faro
  • Hart’s – I specifically want their Spanish omelet
  • Julianas
  • Lilia – Italian restaurant that is at the top of my (and seemingly everyone’s) list – we can’t get a reservation and we tried to go right when they opened and the wait was already 3 hours -_-
  • Little Frankies
  • Martina Pizzeria
  • Oasis Falafel
  • Shuko
  • Ugly Baby – Supposedly the spiciest Thai food in the city…
  • Vspot
  • Wangs – A food-stand near us that sells Southern food (Stove wants their chicken wings, I want their Mac n Cheese)
